The trendy district north of Southwark Street, containing the George Inn (a galleried coaching in, popular with chimeras like Falstaff, Sam Weller and Chaucer’s Miller), The Anchor (Pepys recorded the Fire of London from here) and fully chimerical inns like The Tabard (where Chaucer’s pilgrims gathered). Del-Aziz offers Eastern cuisine for Eshu, with flamenco, belly dancing or Arabian fusion; The Refinery and Vapiano mix food, drink and the hippest music.
