Cog Person

Steampunk robots from the arsenals of Surluse

Description:

Cog People are the mechanical inhabitants of Surluse, not strictly robots because they are self-aware chimaera rather than automata. These Cog People are the legions built for Arthur in his wars across the Dreaming, updated through the Dreaming’s esemplastic faculty from animated suits of armour into steampunk androids.

Bio:

These robots were first created by Prince Gallehault to fight for King Arthur in his campaign against Gorre. Huge regiments still exist, unactivated, in the forgotten factories of Surluse.

The basic cog-infantryman has a spindly metal frame with a cylindrical torso with a frontal hatch. Most units have an old-fashioned rotary-dial telephone, used to communicate at a distance with the rest of the regiment. The head is a mixture of brass work and glass, holding a Tickertape machine that spools out data through the unit’s slot-like mouth.
